About
Little Montessorians Early Learning Center is a Multi-Age Childcare center, offering an authentic AMI Montessori Primary program to children who are between 15months to 5.5 years old. We provide a warm, friendly and encouraging environment that allows our children to explore and learn at their own pace and will. Each child is treated with respect, kindness and love, which builds a caring, loving and friendly community for both children and parents.
What is Montessori?
Montessori is different from traditional education, where the teacher stands at the front of the classroom and tells children what they need to learn. Instead, Montessori sees every child as unique, with their unique way of learning, unique interests, and unique timeline.
In Montessori education there is a dynamic relationship between the child, the adult, and the learning environment. The child is in charge of their own learning, supported by the adult and the environment.
The Montessori educator, we call it the guide, sets up the classroom as a rich learning environment. The child has the freedom to choose an activity they wish to work on, and the guide will observe to see who needs help or who needs a new lesson. With mixed ages, the older children will be modelling for the younger children and be able to help them. In doing so, the older children reinforce their own learning. And the younger children naturally learn so much by observing the older children
